Just to update - when i turn the key once to the right all i get is the warning lights, the windows, the headlights etc - it doesn't "wake up" like it normally would - and then attempting to start gives me nothing. The immobiliser light, the battery light, the ! light and the abs light stay on.

Mar 19, 2012 · On the Mk2 and Mk3 Punto 2. 1.2 8v engines judder commonly. Wishbone bushes commonly fail. Oil seals perish on the gearbox. Gearbox bearings have a high failure rate. Wiper linkages commonly fail and can be uprated. Rust is common on the Mk2 and 3's underneath, a lot of them seem to have been poorly sealed.
